Like humans, animals can suffer from all manner of chronic pain, and this 2015 review of the scientific literature on chronic pain and cannabinoid usage found that seven out of eleven high-quality trials showed cannabinoids to have “a significant analgesic effect.” Researchers also reported that “several trials also demonstrated improvement in secondary outcomes (e.g., sleep, muscle stiffness, and spasticity).”
Saying CBD gummies or CBD Edibles are becoming increasingly popular is a total understatement. For most, it's an easy way to consume CBD in a convenient and discreet way, and in fact in one of the strongest ways. In addition, the candy-like taste of CBD gummies neutralizes the possible hemp-like taste of CBD oil. People turn to CBD to soothe several of symptoms without the fear of being high.
But herein lies a problem. The research needed to determine the correct dosage for CBD oil in dogs simply hasn’t been done yet, Coates says. And, to make matters worse, FDA testing has shown that many CBD products contain little if any CBD, she adds. The best option available to pet parents at this time is to talk to a veterinarian who has experience with pets being treated with cannabis oil about proper dosage and reputable manufacturers, Coates says.
There are numerous ways to get our dose of CBD, one of the most popular being CBD edibles. You’ve probably heard the “I ate too much of the delicious chocolate brownie and freaked the eff out” stories quite a few times. But, these stories would be referencing THC-infused brownies or edibles, not CBD edibles. The effects of CBD edibles aren’t as noticeable when compared to THC edibles, and you will not feel high or “trip out” in the traditional sense of the phrase.
CBD is a plant constituent found in hemp and cannabis – the former is now legal, but the latter is not. That’s why all CBD products must be made from hemp strains, and not cannabis. This is because standard cannabis contains high concentrations of THC, a psychoactive component of the herb. In contrast, hemp produces very little THC, but larger amounts of CBD.

But what does all this have to do with the CBD edibles experience? Well, CBD works by balancing the ECS out, therefore encouraging its therapeutic benefits. As the edibles travel throughout the body, they release the CBD that soothes the ECS, halts traces of anxiety, stress, and depression and will eventually make you feel wonderfully relaxed. The great thing with CBD is that you feel dazed without feeling confused. Ultimately CBD edibles for anxiety is a real thing. A 2015 analysis that was conducted on previous CBD studies found that CBD is a promising treatment option for various forms of anxiety. But this isn’t the only study to conclude this: Plenty of research has found CBD to be effective in treating anxiety.
Because they can’t. In most states, veterinarians risk losing their licenses if they recommend cannabinoids for pets. That may start to change soon though. Colorado is leading the charge in this, as in so many cannabinoid-related issues. And legislation is in the works in both New York and California that would allow veterinarians to legally discuss the use of cannabis products with their clients.
Marcus, my husband is a 100% disabled vet with PTSD. He has tried a myriad of drugs through the VA all with questionable side affects. He would love to drop the drugs all together but that would cause many other problems. Can the CBD oil be used with meds he is on? Does he need to get permission from the psychiatrist at the VA and is there anything else I might need to consider before suggesting this to him? Thanks in advance!
Hemplucid is relatively new to the CBD industry, but they’re working hard to attract customers and keep them coming back. They extract their CBD from organic, Colorado-grown hemp and use a clean CO2 extraction process. Hemplucid is dedicated to transparency, and they send every batch of their CBD oil to a third-party lab to ensure that it lives up to their standards.
